Home State Bank celebrated the Newsradio 1040 WHO Tractor Ride in Jefferson June 25-28 with “A Reason To Ride.” For every mile driven by each tractor, Home State Bank donated five cents to one of three agricultural and youth-minded organizations: the Greene County 4-H Foundation, Greene County FFA and the Greene County Fair Foundation.
The 470 drivers who participated in the event drove a total of 109,152 miles during the three days. At five cents a mile, Home State Bank is donating a total of $5,457.60 between the three organizations.
Tractor drivers each chose which organization their miles each day would support after hearing student presentations about each group. Gwen Black represented the FFA, Lucas Fisher represented the 4-H Foundation, and 2015 Greene County Fair queen Abby Badger represented the Fair Foundation. Those same students accepted checks last week on behalf of the organizations.
The breakdown of donations is $1,788.30 to the Greene County 4-H Foundation, $2,140.50 to the Greene County FFA, and $1528.80 to the Greene County Fair Foundation.
